Connor O’Brien, MD​

Connor O’Brien is a critical care cardiologist. He went to medical school at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed residency, cardiology fellowship, and critical care fellowship at Stanford Hospital and Clinics. During fellowship his research was focused on mitochondrial transfer as a treatment for heart failure and myocardial injury. From that experience he developed an interest in early detection of cell injury and has leveraged his experience with myocyte injury to identify biomarkers capable of detecting tissue hypoperfusion in its early phases. He is director of biobanking for the division of cardiology and has developed a large cardiogenic shock biobank.
