Carolyn Leroux
Carolyn Leroux is the Biobank Manager for the CPR-CC. She oversees the organization and management of tens of thousands of biospecimens collected for clinical and basic science research. She led the implementation of a new laboratory information management biobanking system to ensure that all samples are accurately stored, tracked, and study-linked across multiple freezers, for easy retrieval, distribution, and long-term utilization of precious biospecimens.
Carolyn also serves as the Lab Manager for the research groups of Drs. Michael Matthay and Carolyn Calfee. She conducts a wide range of protein biomarker assays, including traditional singleplex ELISAs and multiplex assays on the Luminex and ELLA platforms. In addition to performing sample measurements, she oversees all laboratory operations and provides support for every research project in the lab. Carolyn collaborates extensively with investigators across UCSF and external institutions to share samples, run assays, and offer technical expertise.
